Third Round of Equity Raising Marks Increase of 266 Percent

Ujjivan completed its third round of capital raising since inception. The paid up capital and premium increased by 266%, from Rs.54,984,400 to Rs.146,354,650 including premium. The increased capital was primarily raised from the existing shareholders.

Its major shareholders are Unitus, Bellwether Microfinance Fund, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and AW Holding Private Limited (new investor). The break down between Domestic and Foreign/NRI shareholding is 51.7% and 48.3% respectively.

The latest round of equity raising builds on Ujjivan’s previous success of being India’s highest capitalized start up microfinance institution. Currently, it ranks among the top five MFIs in India in terms of Paid-up Capital and Premium.
