Kolkata Holds Ceremony for Opening of Regional Office

Ujjivan’s Regional Office in Kolkata moved into a permanent space capable of accommodating its growing staff and operational needs. An opening ceremony for the office was held on 14th, February 2008. Several members of Ujjivan’s Bangalore team, including Ajit Grewal, Executive Director and Carol Furtado, Head of Operations, attended the ceremonies. The event began with a Puja, after which Mr. Grewal and Santosh Roy, COO of Kolkata, held a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Ujjivan began operating in Kolkata just one year ago, and since that time has opened 10 branches throughout the city. It currently has 11,797 customers, and will be focusing in the coming year to expand both within Kolkata and into surrounding areas in North East India.
