On Sunday October 7th, Ujjivan in partnership with Parinaam Foundation (Parinaam) hosted a successful eye camp at its Peenya Branch. In total,
more than 360 Ujjivan customers and family members attended to receive free eye examinations.
To deliver this fundamental health service, Parinaam Foundation partners with Vittala International
Institute of Ophthalmology, a leading organization in the field. Vittala’s doctors advised
71 patients for prescription eyeglasses, 16 for cataract surgery, and 80 for follow up
visits at Vittala Hospital.
Launched in December 2006, Parinaam hosts one eye camp per month at sequential branch locations.
Natesh Kumar, Health Field Coordinator in charge of organizing the eye camps, says, “the
eye camps always have an excellent response among our customers and strengthen the Branch and
Ujjivan's name.”
Ujjivan’s eye camps are an initiative of Parinaam Foundation, a not-for-profit company
under formation. Parinaam’s mission is to provide access to quality healthcare & education,
practical vocational training & job enhancement, basic community services to the poor and
capacity building initiatives to alleviate poverty.
