Parinaam Foundation Holds its 1st Eye Camp in Tollygunge Branch, Kolkata

Kolkata: Parinaam Foundation has successfully conducted 20 eye camps for the customers of Ujjivan in Bangalore region for more than a year. In order to reach out to Ujjivan customers in the Eastern Region, on 17th August, 2008 an eye camp was organized in Tollygunge Branch, Kolkata. The camp was organized with the help of Rotary Narayana Nethralaya, Kolkata, an eye hospital which is under the aegis of Dr. Devi Shetty. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Santhosh Roy, C.O.O, Eastern Region, Ujjivan Financial Services, Kolkata.

Most of the needy customers and their family members from the branch area benefited from the camp. Out of 149 cases registered, 64 of them were prescribed eye glasses. 11 were advised to have cataract surgeries. Another 11 patients were advised for further checkups in Rotary Narayana Nethralaya. The follow up for getting the eye glasses and surgeries is in progress. The date for the second eye camp is slated for 21st September at Kalighat Branch.
