Ujjivan Branches Mark New Milestones

Ujjivan opened two new branches in September 2007, significantly increasing its ability to bring microfinance to the poor in Bangalore and Kolkata. The Maddur Branch was opened in Bangalore on September 21st, and the Howrah Branch was opened in Kolkata on September 23rd. These branches mark Ujjivan’s 25th and 26th locations in some of India’s most impoverished urban areas.

Since May 2007 Ujjivan’s Kolkata branches have cumulatively reached more than 3,000 customers.
