Livestock Loan - Ujjivan’s first product with a specific focus on semi-urban livelihoods marked its entry into the South with the first livestock loan being disbursed on 18th February. Mrs. Laxmi Sayanak of Belgaum was the first customer to benefit from this product. Laxmi has availed the loan for the purchase of a Holstein Friesian cow. Ujjivan also provides insurance, covering both the customer and the animal to insulate the business from unforeseen risks.

Ujjivan aims to make credit easily available and at affordable rates to provide a stimulus to customers engaged in animal husbandry activities with the goal of helping micro- entrepreneurs grow and develop their business, especially in the semi-urban areas of Ujjivan’s operations.
