With a cold wave striking the North India this winter and the National Capital seeing the mercury hover around the zero degree Celsius mark, over 200 people lost their lives to the cold. The homeless were the worst affected with no clothes or shelter to protect them from the harsh winter.
Ujjivan North started a drive, ‘Kapdon Se Jindagi’ in January to collect clothing for the underprivileged. Cartons were placed at the Delhi regional office for employees to contribute. This initiative received an overwhelming response from the Ujjivan team and significant contributions were raised within 3-days.
Some of the clothes were distributed amongst the destitute around the office and around 150 clothes were given to the ‘Godrej Ezee Raahat – Ek Abhiyan’ campaign. |
