When Ujjivan started providing loans to urban poor women, we discovered that they were borrowing Rs. 10,000 a year @ 10% interest rate a month from moneylenders to send just two children to private schools for a quality education. Imagine your housemaid paying Rs.1000 interest per month to ensure her children get a decent start in life! They make this enormous sacrifice to ensure their children’s ticket out of poverty. Over the past year, Ujjivan has helped 6,400 poor children gain access to quality school education by providing Education Loans of Rs. 5000 per child. Our nominal cost per child per year is Rs.775.
Now, Parinaam Foundation has undertaken a program to make quality education accessible to the poor by making the Education Loan “interest-free” through a refund. Furthermore, Parinaam will also provide scholarships to cover the cost of higher education for deserving students. Please download the brochure below for more details.

Corporate Scheme
You could donate one day's salary/earnings through your company. Companies tend to do this every time there’s a disaster, but the fact remains that our country’s poor need our help all the time. Your one day’s salary would help educate the poor in India and provide for a better future for them.
School Scheme
We would like to include schools in creating a social project for students, rallying them to go into their communities, creating awareness on the plight of their fellow poor students who are not so lucky. With a sense of social responsibility, students could raise donations from friends and neighbours to help a good cause. As a reward, students who manage to collect the most can come to our branches to disburse the money to the grateful mothers. It is a touching ceremony and the happiness of these poor women far outweighs the benefit that we are giving them.
