June was a hectic month for Ujjivan. We expanded operations to 18 states in the country and crossed several operational and organisational milestones.

The Eastern zone became the first region to cross the 300000 customers mark and open over 100 branches! We are now also present in the far-flung and underserved states of Assam and Meghalaya.

In June, the Northern region began serving over 100000 customers – a major achievement in a tough region.

In the West, Ujjivan launched its operations in Gujarat and the region also crossed 50000 customers in just 18 months. Mr.Ghosh and Mr.Zachariah (COO – West), felicitated the achievers in the young team at a special program in Pune. Ujjivan’s newest region of operations saw growth in terms of disbursements and number of customers in several Mumbai-based branches.

These are very encouraging developments for the organisation this fiscal year.
