In April, Ujjivan expanded operations to 16 states with business commencing in Assam, Meghalaya and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Branches have been opened in areas which are still virgin in terms of Microfinance services.
With this, Ujjivan aims to leverage its first-mover advantage and establish itself as a leader in the micro-finance sector in these untapped regions.
The Northern Region now has 41 branches spread across Rajasthan, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand , Haryana and Greater Punjab (Chandigarh). In the East, Ujjivan now operates in 6 states – West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Meghalaya and Assam, with 98 branches.
