Customers celebrate Third Anniversary with Ujjivan

One reads about how an organisation must take care of its customers. How many times do you hear of customers celebrating their association with an organisation? Yet, this is exactly what happened on August 14, 2010. It marks a special day for customers of Centre Number #53 of the Whitefield branch in Bangalore, for it was on this day that these women got their first loans from Ujjivan way back in 2007. To commemorate the 3rd anniversary of their association with Ujjivan, these poor women got together to organize a special event for a few staff of Ujjivan’s Whitefield Branch.

Pradeep B who has grown to become an Area Manager, was the Whitefield Branch Manager responsible for helping these women get their first loans and was invited as a special guest.
 


The event was organised at a local temple and commenced with a traditional ‘lighting of the ceremonial lamp’ and a prayer song. Customers shared their experiences and expressed their happiness to be part of a Centre, whose members have stood by each through thick and thin. Soubhagyavathi, the recipient of Parinaam Foundation’s first scholarship said, “Ujjivan has truly changed my life. I had never imagined that my decision to join Ujjivan would give my daughter a chance to complete her education”. The event made everyone nostalgic, with Pradeep sharing a firsthand account of being part of Ujjivan’s astronomical growth and his own personal development within the organisation – from being a Branch Manager to managing 14 branches today as an Area Manager.

This was a truly memorable event for both customers and Ujjivan staff alike. It was a special occasion where customers and Ujjivan staff celebrated their togetherness in this mission to build a better life.
