Celebrating with Customers, Staff, Partners and Friends

October 3rd, 2008 was a special day in Ujjivan – South. It was the day wherein we celebrated the achievement of crossing the 150,000 customer milestone in 1060 days. The celebration was held at the NIMHANS Convention Centre, Hosur Road, Bangalore. Employees and customers from all branches across South region participated in the one day cultural programme. The function commenced with a dance invocation by employee Chitra Sriraman’s daughter - Aarti and lighting of the lamp by Mr. Samit Ghosh (MD &CEO), Mr. K R Ramamoorthy (Chairman of Ujjivan Board), Gangamma (Best CRS 2007 – South), Lakshmi (One of Ujjivan's earliest customer from Koramangala) and Mrs. Elaine Ghosh (Director of Parinaam Foundation).

Staff, customers and their children took part in the Skit, Dance and Singing Competitions. It was a great show – apt for the occasion. The performances were put up with lot of enthusiasm and competitive spirit. The winners justly deserved their awards. During the lunch break folk artistes from Janapada Loka who came all the way from Mandya entertained us with Kolu Kunita and Dollu Kunita. The function culminated with a one hour programme by Drummer Deva and his team – a well known entertainer from the music industry. It was an amazing performance.

The function was a huge success. The core organizing committee comprising of Prem Kumar, Col. Murthy Rajan, Srijan Kaushik, John Christy, Shantha Kumar, Jagadeesh Begur and Carol Furtado, under the able leadership of Prem Kumar put together a spectacular function. It was a truly wonderful celebration of a significant achievement in the life of Ujjivan.

Jagadeesh Begur, Distribution Manager remarked - “Celebration of this size is unprecedented in MFI sector”.
Similar remarks were also made by representatives from other MFIs who attended our function.

Uma and other staff of Magadi Road branch - “We have not seen anything of this kind before. We were able to unleash our energies during the dance performance.”

Mr. Narayan Kadakol, Audit Manager, said “It was a memorable event which has motivated us to achieve many more milestones”

Basannagouda, Cashier of Belgaum branch said “It was well worth the overnight journey. We have never seen a celebration of this kind before. The show put up by Ujjivan was super”

Customer Lakshmi from Koramangala remarked – “I am very happy that Ujjivan recognized me. I did not expect to be called up for lighting the lamp.”

Gangamma, Best CRS 2007 – South observed “The function was well organized. It was good that we took time off to celebrate our achievement with customers and other colleagues.”

Prasanna Lakshmi, Customer from Anekal - “It was a great function, I am very happy to witness such a big crowd and I am surprised to know about Ujjivan’s presence all over India. The cultural programs were well organized. The children’s participation in the cultural activities was quiet interesting.”

A customer from Chandra Layout wished she brought her husband along to the event to illustrate the fact that Ujjivan means much more than a source of credit.

Customer Padma, Participant in the Solo Signing Competition, from HAL branch said – “The best celebrations I witnessed till yesterday are the annual day celebrations in my kid’s school, but today I shared the stage with a person I usually watch on TV. I am thrilled and thank Ujjivan for this memorable experience.”
