Ujjivan Kolkata Races to 10,000 Customers

In just 9 months, Ujjivan’s Kolkata branches have reached 10,000 customers. The regional office began operations on 2nd May 2007 with three branches in Garcha, Tollygunge and Kalighat. Since then, it has grown to 10 branches located across Kolkata and Howrah.

The rapid growth in Kolkata is accompanied by an impressive track record of loan disbursements, repayments and field discipline. The region has disbursed loans of Rs. 56 million and maintained a 99.9% repayment rate and 95% customer attendance rate.

The success is due primarily to Ujjivan’s Kolkata team’s high motivation and hard work. They remain committed to Ujjivan’s mission and are working to reach 15,000 customers by the end of March.
