Reporting to : Credit Manager with dotted line reporting to the Area Manager/ Distribution Manager
Must have completed B.Com or other graduation program related to Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Statistics
At least 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in credit or finance function Experience in managerial role is preferred

Age: 24 – 30 years

Strong communication skills – verbal and written

Good numerical and analytical ability and working knowledge of accounting is essential

Fluent in local languages with working knowledge of English is essential.

Strong interest in doing field work and ability to work in the field in difficult environments

Strong interest in collections management

Ability to carry out credit related investigations & prepare reports on the observations

Good Working knowledge of MS Word & Excel.

Problem solving skills – both staff and customers

Knowledge of local area/district is helpful.

Mobility essential: Ability to ride a two-wheeler preferably should own one
(if doesn’t own one should be willing to purchase one on selection by Ujjivan)

Should be willing to work in any branch in that region
Working Area
Area covering 10 - 12 branches
Business

Detailed understanding of the area of operations, including customer occupation, repayment pattern, external influences, customer behaviour, characteristics of branch personnel etc.,

Assist Area Manager in maintaining complete information of competition operating in the area

Overall responsibility along with Area Manager for portfolio quality of assigned branches & new branches to be opened in the designated area.
Field Operations Management

Conduct Area cross checks & update the negative areas list for the branches semi-annually.

Conduct independent GRTs (borrower group verification tests) across the assigned branches through effective scheduling with the Area Manager.

Hindsight verification of loan approvals & utilization done by the Distribution team to ensure target customer selection with a focus on group guarantee and eliminate over extension of credit to the customer.

Work jointly with the Area Manager in the collection program.

Compliance to the credit policies and guidelines and product programs.

Review collection MIS on a daily basis. Assist AM in categorizing technical and non technical overdues. Resolving technical overdues and ensuring rectification entries are passed by Operations team. Classifying overdues into temporary, long term and willful defaults and assisting Area Manager to take up corrective action.

Coordinating with Risk and Fraud Control personnel on handling hard core collection cases by providing up to date MIS and assisting in documentation.

Assist Area Manager in initiating rescheduling of loans in co-ordination with the branch personnel and customer. Ensure loans are rescheduled in the software after necessary approvals in co-ordination with Operations department.

Assist Area Manager in loan write offs through proper investigation of the causes for write off. Ensure loans are written off in the software after necessary approvals in co-ordination with Operations department.

Follow up on recovery of written off loan accounts on a periodic basis in co-ordination with the Program Managers and CRMs.

Responsible for detecting cases of customer and staff fraud and reporting the same to the Area Manager.

Point of contact for Distribution and back office Credit teams.
Financial
Responsible for customer portfolio quality of the branches & the area
Time Management
Broadly, time distribution would be: 75% - Field & Customers, 25%- Reporting & interaction with H.O. etc.
Interface
Establish and manage relationships with the support functions.
The probation will be for a period of 3 months. On completion of probation period, the Credit Officer will be assessed for performance and confirmation.

Gross Compensation: Rs. 15000 – 18000 per month

Incentives are not applicable for this position.
