Compensation & Benefits
Ujjivan’s compensation is among the best
in the microfinance industry. The objective of
the compensation policy is to attract, retain
and motivate the best talent available to achieve
the organization’s goals. We offer a balanced
package that aims to maximize current take home
pay based on performance, statutory long term
benefits like Provident Fund and Gratuity, and
other benefits including medical coverage.
Ujjivan believes in rewarding performance and
giving our employees a stake in our success. Our
compensation packages for field staff are designed
with fixed and variable incentive elements. All
members of the staff are eligible for an annual
performance bonus after the company breaks-even.
Our Employee Stock Option Program (ESOP) is a
valuable pathway to sharing the wealth and creation
among those who have built the company. We introduced
the ESOP Scheme for all employees and directors
on November 19th, 2007.
Training and Development
As part of the new and evolving microfinance industry,
Ujjivan is committed to training its staff to
develop the expertise required to lead our company
through rapid growth. Professional development
plays a key part of the professional organization
that we are committed to building. All employees
undergo compulsory field training to gain exposure
to customers, their environment and our business
practices. Training on functional skills, industry
knowledge, communications and management/leadership
will be conducted at regular intervals. In addition,
field staff begin employment with a comprehensive
orientation program, which includes both classroom
and on the job training. All employees are required
to participate in training programs to enhance
their skills and knowledge.
