Ujjivan's mission is to provide financial services to the economically active poor, to enable them to lead a ‘better life’.

• Provide financial services for customers to enable them to be free of poverty within five years of starting their relationship with Ujjivan

• Expand nationally in both urban and rural areas making sure to cover a significant number of poor customers i.e. two million by the 6th year of operation

• Operate a viable business and break-even in the 3rd full year of operations

• Provide attractive return on equity to investors, target 15% ROE over a 5-year period and not be dependent on grants and donations

• Collaborate with Parinaam Foundation to provide microcredit plus services including quality healthcare and education; practical vocational training and job enhancement; basic community services to the poor and capacity building initiatives to alleviate poverty

• Provide professionally and financially rewarding careers to employees and to attract and retain top quality talent
